Hey all,

I was hoping someone could help me with some suggestions for cable management. I have done the best I can with the smallish case I have, but it still seems a mess to me. Any help would be appreciated! Some pics:

I can't post images yet, but here is my flickr account in which you will find them: http://www.flickr.com/photos/aiasthewall/

Sorry for the hassle, but I did not know how else to go about it.

Here are my specs, if it help:

DFI Infinity 975
Conroe E6600
NZXT Adamas Case
PCP &C Cooling 750 Silencer
8800 GTS
Arctic Cooling Pro
Bluegears B-Enspirer Soundcard

Thanks much!

One thing the anandtech sticky didn't say was depending on your case, some cables and wires can be hidden behind you motherboard tray. As well as around the drive cage on the back side of your case.

Thanks for the link. The problem with cage is that there are no holes in the mobo tray through which to lead cables. Also, the fan is directly in front of the hd cage, so installing the hard drives backwards is not an option. But I did get a few ideas from the link. Thank you.

You and I have basically the same PSU (Silencer 750 Quad here), and that thing has a lot of cables which makes it difficult to work with.

My case is the Antec 900, and it is a royal bitch to work on and trying to manage cables.

My simple advice to you would be to remove everything from inside your case, get out your Dremel, and start cutting. I am including a link to a guy who did something like that to his case in order to get a clean install. I did something very similar, but I only made three large openings (one at the bottom near the PSU (which I also mounted upside-down), one near the top where the MB main power connector is, and another just below that to help with the various drive data cables. I also didn't go to the extreme of reverse-mounting my HDDs like he did.

Good luck.

Forgot the link! It is:

I don't see it mentioned here or in the links provided, but if you're going to cut holes be carefull not to cut your wiring open on the edges of your freshly cut holes causing a short. Also don't put too much tension on connectors because of tight bends. Remember it's copper wiring so try to pre- bend all cables to be connected unstrained. Most importantly is just take your time for it and try to see the endresult in mind when your thinking of giving up. I have a fairly easy case and it still took me over 4 hours to put it together nicely. Anyways good luck.. it's worth the effort 8)
