It was mentioned to me that I need more than 4 gig memory for Vista 64 bit.
Does Vista 64 bit require close to 4 Gig of memory including running Office and browsing, etc. ?

It will run fine on 2 GB, but 4 GB is slightly better (more caching).

vista x64 runs ok w/ 2 gigs, but you'll find that a large percentage of the resources will be taken up. w/ 4 gigs, you get the optimal amount of memory. Anything more is wasteful

any vista only takes up 700mb of memory so no matter what vista you get make sure you at least have 2gb of memory other wise it will run very slow!
