Hey all, anyone have some experience with the evga nforce 590?

This will be going into a gaming machine running an AMD X2 of somesort - I don't need to be on the cutting edge here, I just want to be able run games like Oblivion/FEAR decently.

And just as an aside, this would go nicely with a evga 7900 GS KO GPU(only one for now) right?

The MoBo is about $100, seems reasonable?

Thanks

Sure, I'm looking at about $1300 tops for an entire computer - perhipheals and all.

And, I was thinking about $100-$180 for the motherboard. Then, slightly less for the CPU and GPU.

That board is ok, but if u look at the cooling on it, it's kinda weak, espcially for an OC, its basically the same board as the Foxconn, Id reccomend the Gigabyte and the Asus more, the gigabyte upmost...

Just as an aside, am I going to see much of a performance jump with a 7900GS KO in a nforce590 vs. a nforce570 chipset motherboard?

Nope. 590s are just fancier.. and if you are looking to lessen the strain on your wallet 570s are still great... Gigabyte-570 is cool...

The EVGA motherboards are made from high quality components, under strict supervision. Now you add to that,EVGA's customer support program, and you really can't go wrong.I currently own a NF4 board for s-939 from EVGA,and I have to say I've been running with it for almost a year now with no issues.I intend to upgrade to S-AM2 in the next couple weeks and guess what board I'm getting.Anyways,ya the EVGA board is a good choice and trustworthy.Goodluck.

There is no doubt that Evga is a quality company, and I have no doubt in their company good etiquette. But in the case of 590 motherboards.. They lack a bit in cooling.. and there are better boards.

Check it.. back when Tom's was actually doing frequent hardware reviews

I researched am2 590 boards heavily when I built my system.. but if you don't believe me...
