I'm going to be spending a lot of money on this rig and i need it to be perfect.

I want this to be the ultimate gaming machine, ill get another 8800gtx later on, but one should do fine for now.

Here is my cart: Please pay attention to the harddrives. I want the 1TB in raid0 and i want the 10,000RPM WD for the OS. Do i need anything extra to set up the hard drives the way i want them to be in?

Thank you very much in advanced.. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Instead of the Zalman 9700 get a Tuniq Tower 120. It's a much better hsf the the Zalman, and they can be had for $55 at Xoxide.

Which OS are you going to be using? To take full advantage of 4gb of ram you HAVE to use a 64bit os. Most 32bit os' support 4gb of ram, but can only utilize ~3gb.

The psu doolittle's talking about is pretty good, but if your going to spend 3 grand on a computer get one of these. Better quality, and it has the same sustained output as the max output of the TP3 (42a).

Instead of getting 2x 500gb drives get 4x 320gb ones. Virtually the same amount of cash, more space, and better performance since you're using 4 drives instead of 2.

So, if I end up getting 4 of these:
Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD3200AAKS 320GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM

And I get this motherboard:
EVGA 122-CK-NF63-TR LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

What's the best way to connect them in? I was thinking all of them in RAID0, so if i go with that, what will i need?

Will I need any extra cables or any other type of adapters?

Thanks

Another question I forgot to ask.

The motherboard specs only says it has one IEEE1394 port on the back.

The case im getting has a IEEE1394 port on the top. Will there be somethng to connect that too on the motherboard?

No extra connectors needed, just plug the drives into the mobo and set 'em up in the BIOS. How you set them up is beyond me, since I've never had to setup a RAID array before, and don't own that board.

There should be a couple headers on the mobo for the front panel audio, on/off buttons, USB, IEEE 1394, ect.
