I had to put a new hard drive in my Inspiron 1100 and ended up with Vista. I can't find drivers, particularly for the monitor, and Dell is being no help at all. Can anyone help me? I really don't want to pay for them either.

It seems like a discontinued laptop so there are no Vista drivers for this on dell.com. Since it's old hardware, chances are Vista has built-in drivers for the basics like network, etc.

No sweat. Start, all programs, windows updates, check for updates, clear all but the driver checkboxes.

If network isn't up yet, get this program on another pc to a disk and install & run it on the laptop, then post the specs. I can look for the drivers for you.
