Does anybody know how to add MP4 functionality to WMP, WMC, and Windows movie maker? I've searched for codecs but. I see a file in the windows folder called mp4 codec and I even ran the program to add it to windows in case it wasn't already and no luck. I am looking for a free solution. I have quicktime and VLC that both play mp4, but I want to add the functionality to Windows itself. I am using Vista64.

I don't believe there are any codec available to allow WMP to play MP4 files. You're stuck using third-party programs.

Pazera mp4 converter can be used to convert mp4 to media player compatible file.

I have been trying to use the Pazera converter but I only seem to get the audio portion.

I convert to .avi.
Open Windows movie maker.
Drag newly converted .avi to WMM
Press play and only get the audio without the video
Any ideas?

What am I doing wrong?
