Not sure of the answer, but "server" distributions tend to be more conservative than desktop ones. Why not try it and see?

The only potential problem, I would think would be the integrated graphics. If you must use SLES (rather than desktop SuSE) you could always buy a cheap graphics card. But do you really need the server version?
