Sony DVD RW DW-U14A

Doing a search on Yahoo, I came upon this website. So I read a thread from a person that had the same problem I am having now....here is a link to the thread: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/ [...] recordable

The responder from the original poster had some good ideas that I wanted to try,like turning the DVD drive to an OEM DRU-510. And then updating the firmware after it gets changed over to the DRU-510. But the problem is, the link the responder left for the change over is in Japanese text. Which I of course can not read it.

So my question is. Does anyone have an English version website link in order for me to do this change over?

Before anyone suggests: times are really tough so I do not have the extra money to go out and buy a new DVD RW. So I have to make due and upgrade what I have.
