I am not sure where to post this but I think it may be a Vista 64 issue. Hope fully some one can help....
Here is my story:
I re-installed Vista64, updaed with all the updates up to just before SP1. I installed BF2142 and Set point for the gen1 G5 mouse. I tried to run BF2142 and get the "conflict with emulation software" message. I have none running. What I just described are the only programs I put ontot he machine.
Anyways, I found the fix for that issue by getting the "new" .EXE file from Securom. Worked great. New issue...Now, when I get into BF2142 my mouse bindings do not work. They work outside of the game, like in notpad and such but not during gameplay. WTF??????
The only way to resolve the issue is to un-install setpoint, restart, re-install, set bindings, start the game. As long as I do not restart or shutdown my PC, things are fine and I can run BF2142 or get out and get back in as many times as I want. But I cannot keep the binding if the PC re-boots.
Now, I am not sure if the new .EXE file is causing this so if I find the root cause then maybe the mouse issue goes away but I have NO idea what to do. I have re-installed BF2142 many, many times, used a different HDD for the install, call logitech twice, posted on many forums around the world and have a date with Microsoft this weekend to discuss the issue.
But as of now, I have nothing to go on....I am more than willing to provide more info if necessary.
