I have the Linksys VPN firewall router and wanted to know how to open specific ports on it. I just cannot find where to do it on the firm. Thanks...

Most routers include a way to connect via a web interface. Look into your manual or on the webpage for your specific router and see how to connect to it.

usually you go to your web browser and punch in 192.168.1.1 for there router products, not sure on the VPN firewall but your product HAD to come with a manual of some sort.

I know how to get to the web-interface web, but what do I do from there. I play some online games and one of the games needs to update in-game. When it tries to update my firewall on my router(linksys befsr41) it wont let it update which in turn kicks me out of the game.

First thing, the model number you gave is not a VPN router it is just a normal router. So make sure you have what you think you have.

Then find out what port the game your playing is using. It is usually mentionned in the help file, or just ask the publisher of the game.

Finally read ftp://ftp.linksys.com/pdf/befsr11_befsr41ug.pdf page 65 to learn how to forward the port to your computer.

In ancient times they had no statistics so they had to fall back on lies

The CD that came with your router has an Adobe PDF file on it that tells you exactly what you need to do, you really need to go by that, or go to the Linksys site to find out what you need to know.
