here's the deal.  right now in order to connect the wii to the internet i have to use the nintendo wifi connecter.  this is somewhat annoying.  i have to turn the computer on and then open the program and then turn on a set of rules in my firewall because ZA is incompatible with the adapter. thene when i'm done all the settings on the wii are lost when i turn off the comp.  this is too much trouble.  i know i can go ahead and setup a wireless network, but this is an added expence and setup trouble just to get one device to work.  what i'm wondering is if there is some sort of usb adapter that i can just plug into my cable modem.  it has both an ethernet and usb port so why not.  seems like they could just have something like that that wouldn't need your computer turned on to work and would allow a few devices like game consoles and cell phones to hook up.  any suggestions?

Actually, Nintendo makes a USB network connector for the Wii.  They're about $30 to $40 retail, but you plug this into the USB on your Wii, then an ethernet cable to your cable modem/router.
