hi i have a hp compaq dc7100 it has a sata hard drive in it , i need the drivers for it ,not able to load xp on in locks up,i do not have the drives ,i checked with hp not able to find .

If i remember correctly you do not need the SATA driver for the 7100. If it did HP would have included the floppy image here

Where does it lock up at?

Try changing the bios to 'Combined IDE' , Run Setup <F10> -->Storage -->Storage Options -->set SATA Emulation/Configuration to 'Combined IDE.

how do you do that,

When you power up your PC press the button "f10" this will get you into bios.
Then goto the option "storage" press enter
then to the option "storage option" then "set sata" change the Emulation/Configuration option to "Combined IDE"
save the settings.Reboot and try to install windows again.
Hope it works.
