hi
I was unable to find a new conclusive guide to these intel new series and so many processors comming .My basic question is that what are the major differences between the two series
The differences i am confused are
1 . Who gives better perforamance at stock
2. The cache and the fsb
3. the thermal satbility
4. and the price to performance ratio
5. the overclock ability

i am really very confused about all these things as i am planning to buy a new and really have a small budget
Please fell free to point me to any related thread .I coudn' t find any information on the cpu charts
Thank you in advance .... 8O

1. E6320 ~= E4400 performance. All other E6xxx series CPUs are faster than the E4xxx @ stock.

2. E6300/E6400 have 2MB/1066FSB, and the E6320/E6420 and up have 4MB/1066FSB. All E4xxx are 2MB/800FSB.

3. Not sure what you mean by thermal stability? They're all stable, and if it gets too hot they throttle. ;)

4. Price/performance is in the favor of the E4xxx chips, apart from the lower CPU price, you can use cheaper RAM and mobos to overclock to decent levels due to the higher multipliers.

5. All C2Ds are excellent overclockers, but the E4300 can't be beat for value IMO. $113 can get you 3GHz with DDR2-667, there is no better deal in town (except perhaps an overclocked X2 3600+, but that's a different topic altogether. Don't wanna let the fanboys hijack this thread ;) )
