Trying to run steam on linux?

Hey, it's machinamonster. It seems like my files on windows has transfered over to linux. However, I can't seem to be able to find the exe file to start steam. I am VERY new to linux. Could someone tell me how to start the program.

EXE will not run on linux. To run steam you have to download it from the steam website for linux, or else run it under wine.

Looks like it's already in the repos:

No need for the website or WINE - just fire up Ubuntu Software Centre and search for it.
