Microsoft Office:Mac 2004

Can someone help me? When I right click file names in the directory (office:mac 2004) of Excel or Word, the menu will not come up. Consequently, I cannot delete, rename, move, etc. any of my files. The right click works in the files themselves but not in the directory. I also cannot move the files into the 'Trash'. They seemed locked in the directory. I have a mac powerbook g4 OS X 10.4.11.

The files of the application you mean? Maybe your applications folder was locked down?

Yes, the files of the applications. Files that I have named and created. How can I tell if my applications folder is locked down?

I'm still not sure how to determine if my applications folder is locked down. Can you let me know? Thanks
