We bought two Ipaq 1940's a couple of months ago. Both users have
been happy with them and have had no problems syncing up to our
Exchange 2003 box. Installation and configuration of these things to
sync off our mail server was fairly effortless.

Over the weekend, one of the PocketPC's crashed and did what seemed
like a hard reset. So I re-entered all the server settings, user
info, etc. For the life of me, I cannot get this bloody POS to sync
back to our Exchange box. I did a hard reset, reinstalled ActiveSync
3.71, etc... etc... I tried disabling certificate checking, etc.

My other user has no complaints whatsoever with his Ipaq and has not
reported any problems with syncing up to Exchange.

So WTF is wrong with this thing? Is it an issue with the Ipaq 1940 or
did I miss something? We had a bad spell with the Palm 500 series and
the SUDS problems and we're hoping that the Ipaq's aren't a bunch of
lemons either.

Oh yes... and the Ipaq in question is syncing up with the desktop
(i.e., tasks, files, etc...) and connecting to the web via desktop
pass-through. Just can't get the user's Exchange account to sync up
with his PPC.

I looked at Chris Herrara's website and and the usual MS KB articles
and nothing seems to solve the problem. Because of the unexpected
crash and hard reset, I'm thinking we may have a dud here. Anyone
else with similar experiences?

Thanks.

It sounds like you've done everything needed to get the IPAQ working. I'd
call HP support for advice or replacement of the unit.
