I want to delete windows .net framework from my computer.

I am not a gamer nor a programmer.

I only use my PC for internet access, email, music, pictures, cd and dvd viewing and recording.

This is a large program. Do I really need it?

Will deleting it cause any problems or hurt my PC's security?

If I were you I'd leave it alone as a lot of newer applications require .net.

Register or log in to remove.

Several applications are built around .Net framework. If none of your applications need it, you can remove it. I checked on my computer and it uses 185 MB of disk space, which isn't that large. The framework service requires less than 8 MB of memory.

Thanks for the reply.

I am not sure how to determine if any of my programs require .net framework.

Any suggestions?

Remove it and you'll see what no longer works.

Thats what I would normally do.

I thought I would be a little more careful this time as I have cost myself a lot of wasted time in the past by quickly doing something stupid.

Your suggestion is right in line with my normal thought process.

Thanks again.
