So... I'm going to be building a HTPC in a few months to go along with a 1080P LCD.
I was thinking about getting the comcast HD DVR cable box and just using a Slingbox Pro along with it. Now you guys might be thinking, "Why can he just hook up his cable box straight to his TV?" Well I have a PC in another room where I would also like to get TV in as well. I currently have a Tuner for my current PC that supports QAM where I can pick up all my unencrypted HD and Digital but I dont get channels like ESPN HD and Discovery HD + I dont get ondemand.
I've heard the Slingbox essentially takes a "picture" of your box giving you all the options on your cable box on your PC.
Now my Question is: Can two or more PCs watch different shows at the same time using a Slingbox? Or can I watch a show thats been recorded and can someone else watch another show thats been recorded? The combination of questions can go on but You get the picture. So I just wanted to get a little bit more clarification.
However If I went this route it would have to be a wireless solution. If it doesnt work out as planned I suppose I could just put the Slingbox in this room and get an additional cable box.
