I've never done this before.
When I go to 20% it crashes.
When I set memory to 4,4,4,4 it wont start.
I havent toched the voltage I dont want to hurt anything.
I am running a 500w Antec power supply, It was on your recominded list.
not a gammer graphic card is just an ati x600
If I change the fsb (920) myself the computer wont boot.
So where should i start if I dont want to use the boards auto features.
I really dont understand the timmings, I ve read the stickys but the dont corespond to my mobo.
Can I make the computer stable with a 20% overclock? how?
Does anyone have more info about manual settings for this mobo?
Do i need to do something different with memory timings?
Auto had them in the 20s
I read it and I went to the links, They were very helpful, and I bought my power supply because your list recommended it.
However, Im running an asus and a pentium d 945. The article doesn't have any pics about my bios, and Im starting way past when the article was written.
Im starting with an fsb of 920. if I change it to 921 windows wont start?
I can only get windows to run if I use the auto overclocking features. 5,10,15, and 20%. 20% isnt currently stable with mem at 5,5,5,5 windows locks up.
I changed the memory times from auto(20's) to 5,5,5,5, auto(21) this matches the rams recommendations. But is it optimal. When I change to 4,4,4,4 it will not boot. I read all the articles and figured out where in my bios to change the ram timings, but not what it was actually doing. Like should I change one and not the other 3???
voltage I had two options I think they were 1.4 and 1.5 I left it on the lower.
Im pretty good at understanding this stuff (normal). However, my bios isnt even remotely close to the one in the example.
I am very grateful to the sticky's and the help I have recieved here. Two weeks ago I didn't even know you could buy anything other then oem machines. Now I have a custom machine running better then any oem I've had. Will go c2d soon but want to practice on the pentium
