Moving files from windows partition to linux partition

I'm using BT5 R3 (for school related work) and I was thinking about deleting my windows partition and having just BT5 R3 on my computer.

How do I move files from my windows partition to my Backtrack partition and then how would I remove the windows partition?

  1. mount your windows partition with the mount command, copy the files, then use 'gparted ' to delete the partition.
  2. Be aware that if your Windows partition comes before the Linux one then Linux will not boot after you delete the Windows partition. Some adjustments will almost certainly be necessary in GRUB (or whatever bootloader you use) to account for the change.
