Hello,

Okay March 1st I bought an HP Pavilion A1740N desktop PC (Intel core 2 duo processor e6300, 1.87ghz 2gb ram blah blah blah. Causing me problems HP took it and REPAIRED the motherboard, not replaced, still same probs.
So now I may be lucky enough to get best buy to return this and give me a new one. I think it would be replaced with the:
HP A6045X Intell Viiv core 2 duo E4400 2ghz.
Now my question is, am I really getting a better computer if it is an e4400 versus an E6300. I know nothing and would like to make sure they are giving me equal or model up like they say they do. You can look on bestbuy and see the package I mean. or punch in that cpu. I already have a printer and a samsung synmaster 931c monitor, it's just the cpu i need. Please all help would be great.
Here's the link to what I may get if anyone is interested?

thanks for all Help V

The E4400 is an 800FSB CPU while the E6300 is a 1066FSB cpu. There for you're actually getting a "slower" cpu in a way. Not that you would notice much in every day use that is.

You're right, it does seem faster because mine is 1.87 mhz and this e4400 is 2.0. but the processor on mine is something like 1033 and the e4400 is 800mhz.. So I don't know, I don't want to get rammed... All the other things onthe comptuer are almost exactly the same as mine, but it's the processor that i notice is different.....HELP!!! what makes it faster even though the proessor is slower???
