Alas, my quest for some kind of hope in the digital, encrypted world hit
another brick wall today.

I called Mitsu to see if there was an updated Promise Module for my WS-55809
set. The rep told me there was an updated module that had 2 DVI inputs and 1
HDMI in/outs. I was dropping to my knees and thanking the TV gods by this
time.

Anyway -- I was directed to call out to the service center. They affirmed
there is no such module and the PM 1000 with the FireWire ports was all
there was and ever will be. The upgrade promise was only for the digital
broadcast component.

So once again I beg the question: Is there any way to drop DVI or HDMI
signal down to component w/o losing the 1080i support?

I know the newer formats were meant to protect the DIGITAL signal from
copyright thieves (my Grandma is always booting Matlock episodes on E-Bay)
but they should leave the door open for analog, right?

Help. Please. Now.
