Closed Import problems w/ Windows Mail (pst) - Outlook IS installed Tags: Outlook Windows Mail Windows Vista Last response: June 11, 2010 2:41 AM in Windows Vista Share gannonreid April 30, 2009 12:21:09 AM I'm having trouble finding an answer to this. I need to start using Windows Mail (in my Vista Business 64-bit machine). I currently have outlook 2007 installed and used it to export a .pst file. I go to Windows Mail to import 'Microsoft Outlook' files and receive a message: 'Messages cannot be imported from the MAPI client MAPI is not installed on this computer or an error occured while initializing it' == Everywhere says Outlook not being installed is the reason for this - well, I have outlook installed (and have for a while). What gives?
