Okay my friend has been bragging that his new sony laptop will demolish my computer in terms of gaming.

Is a geforce go 7600gt better than my 7900gt?
can you explain or give links so that i can prove him wrong?

Well he has a big E-penis and wont take that answer lol.
Any links to evidence?
Although its obvious a 7900gt would beat a 7600gt, he thinks his 7600gt is "different"

It is different, it's worse.

Anyway, your PC will beat his easily.

Both of you should run 3DMark, and see which has a higher score. Although I think it's a useless benchmark in most situations, you can also run game tests, like the one found in Half-Life 2, and then you'll see which is better.

The 7600GT and the GO 7600 are diffrent GPUs. Tom's VGA charts don't have the GO 7600. So the charts are useless in this situation.
Exactly, the 7600 go is a slowed down version of the 7600 series (to reduce heat output and power consumption), so the fact that even the top end 7600 is smashed by a 7900gt proves even more that the laptop will be destroyed. Thats why I posted with the 7600gt, to prove a point with an extreme example.

@OP: Go put his laptop "out to pastures"

Actually the Go 7600GT is on the chart.
He added the "Go" cards a few months ago.

The Go7600GT is 4 ranks below the 7900GT.

Of course, the friend clearly will not take that as proof.
Benches are the only thing that will give proof.

And it's not likely his friend will be all that up for observed benchmarking since he likely knows he is toast.

Don't forget HDD performance as well.
You will likely destroy him there as well.

I'm a laptop gamer, but I admit my system for what it is.
A system for playing in the convenience of my living room, bedroom, or where I choose. It's not for uberness.

for real man, just overclock your cpu to 3.0ghz, and then if u have room overclock ur video card a lil bit, n then run benches :) besides isnt the 6400 all the overclockers dream?
