Ubuntu 12.10 on VB, glitchy as heck?

I just installed it on the newest version of VirtualBox, plus installed the guest additions. My mouse bounces all around, changing display settings will frequently freeze up the system, nothing is smooth by any means.

What am I doing wrong? Or should I just go buy it's own HDD tomorrow at Microcenter and say screw VMs?

EDIT: After many hours of installing headers and packages and kicking my dog, it seems to be running great now. Mods please delete this thread, thanks.

A lot of times, this can be caused by not giving the system enough ram or video memory. Check to make sure at least 1gb of ram is set and the video memory to at least 128mb.
