hi, i am currently working on a computer and have hit snag.

the computer is an P4 without SATA ports, and i am trying to install an SATA hard drive (WD green power 500GB). i have installed a SATA controller (PCI)
http://www.siliconimage.com/PRODUC [...] spx?pid=29
on boot up it has its own splash screen (like Graphics cards do) and it tells me that it has recognised the HDD as well as giving me RAID options.

i tried to install XP on this computer, but it doesn't recognise the Controller so i press F6 so i can install the drivers from the floppy drive (which does work). but it jut hangs on the screen saying insert the floppy disk and hit enter ect.

so i try and slip stream the drivers into the install using nLite, i burnt the ISO with drivers in. This time when XP is loading in the bar at the bottom it names the correct drivers (indicating it is on the CD) for the cards, however when it gives me the list of drives connected to the system it fail to recognise the HDD (which BTW is also confirmed working).

i have also tried pressing f6 with the slip stream disk but it still ask for a floppy.

just wondering whether anyone else had a solution perhaps when installing Hardware RAID. and could help

thanks.
