Cursor falls to bottom of the screen

The cursor falls to the bottom of the screen as if there was gravity. I can move it around put it 'resists' and continues falling towards the bottom. I use XP home.

I have tested different mouses, different USB-ports, rebooting, restoring XP to a previous point in time.

I began having this problem one day after I installed a new ATI HD 4830 on my system, but I don't think it has anything to do with it.

It could be some other software conflicting with the ATI drivers.

Does it go away when you uninstall the graphics drivers completely?
