Hyperlinks on Documents transferred to disc won't open

Does anyone even know why transferring a document with hyperlinks of pictures, short video clips and other texted documents, into a DVD and thne after the transferr id done I put the DVD into another computer and only the Document is opened but the hyperlinks, though they're all there, either in Text, Pictures and or Buttons are fully visible and clickable but do not open any of their pictures, video clips or other documents. I thought that by transferring the main document with all these Hyperlinks directly into a DVD would also have 'dragged' all the relevant Hyperlink informations with it. As I said, the when I opened the disc in another computer, the document opened fine but when the cursor was pointed on a Hyperling, it changed to a hand with a pointing finger, unluke that to the original Document from the Master computer where it was created, where you have to press ALT key and then left click on the mouse. I used OpenOffice.org instead of Word 2003 for this document. Does that make any difference? Surely of all the smarties out these someone can explain me why the Hyperling do not open from a DVD inserted on another computer, do not open even when the DVD is inserted on the master computer, but when I open the original document, all the Hyperlinks can be opened but not on other applications, such as when the document is transferred on a disc but wont the Hyperlinks wont open on any XP computers.
Maybe you could explain why this is actually happening
