Forum Windows Vista : General Discussion Help plz - Vista x64 Context menu problem

Hey guys. I'm looking for help on a new build. The problem is that whenever i open a context menu or drop down menu, whatever item I click on permanently freezes to the screen. Also, it stays on top, even when the screen saver comes on.
I think this is a Vista bug. I've been searching forums everywhere and cannot find an answer. I really don't want to have to do a reinstall, but will try that as a last resort. Here is my system config:

Vista Ultimate x64
Core i7 920
Asus P6T
OCZ Platinum 1600 DDR3 3x2GB
XFX GTX 260 Core 216
WD Caviar Black 640
Asus VW224 22"

Running newest video driver(185.xx), stock clocks (for now). I am running Solidworks 2008 x64, and i also think it might have caused the problem somehow.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have the same issue. Had it for ages. It's occasional like 10% of logins.

Must be OS as I have an ATI card.
I have only solved the problem by logging off and then back on.
Or you can kill explorer and then restart it (does the same thing).

Vista Ultimate 64bit (now with SP2)
Q6600
Asus Maximus Formula
ATI 3870x2

Still hunting for a solution as it's really annoying as it seems to lock up other Explorer functions and no applications show on the taskbar.
