I was messing around with animated cursors (.ani) on my computer (Win XP SP3). I found one I wanted to edit, but didn't have any programs installed to do so. I got a hold of one and installed it but now the behavior in Windows Explorer has changed. Before I had a program associated with .ani files, I could see the first frame in the .ani file in Explorer when viewing as an Icon (I assume Tile and Thumbnail worked, as well) but now all I see is the icon for the program .ani is associated with. I can still right click and go to properties to see a full, animated preview, but that's much slower than what I had before. Is there a way to tell Explorer to show the first frame in the .ani file as the icon the way it used to? I assume messing with the registry will be required and I'm fine with that.
