I have a dell thats 7 or 8 years old running windows xp home. I have my xp home CD key but i do not have the CD that came with the machine when i got it from dell. My brother has his windows xp pro cd. So my question is... Is it possible for me to reformat my PC using a windows xp pro CD but a windows home CD key??? Or am i stuck trying to get dell to send me a new windows xp home cd or buying a new windows xp ?

The version has to match the key.

Just borrow a Dell Windows XP Home CD from someone. The CDs are all the same and can be used on any Dell. Send me a PM if you can't find one.
