I want to put a new hard drive in my computer. It only has 1 hard drive slot so I would have to remove the other hard drive and re-install windows on this new hd. How do I tell which version of XP I have of my computer(OEM or retail). I purchased my computer from dell. It a Dimension 2400. I was just going to download a XP installation CD instead of contacting Dell since I have my product key sticker on my case still.

You should have an OEM version, but you need to verify which one. You can click Start, Control Panel, System. The General tab should display the version that you have.
