I have several computers on my network that when told to restart or shutdown, begin the process and then hang with the windows box saying "running logoff scripts".... I'm not sure exactly how long it hangs like this, it will eventually shutdown or restart but it takes longer than 10 minutes to do so.
There are no local logoff scripts and there are none in the group policy that is on the network. I did find a setting in gpedit.msc to restrict script run time to 15 seconds... but if I have no scripts configured I don't think that actually will do anything.
Has anybody seen this happen, and know how to make it stop happening?
I found an old DC we still have online, which just happens to be plugged into a user access switch because its not in the server room... So, it looks like several computers are logging onto that that particular DC... but still, any group policies should be replicated to the other DC's... and still on that one I did not find any logoff scripts when I was expecting to.
