After reinstalling Vista I tried to reinstall all the updates. It downloads them ok but after restarting the computer it tries to install the updates then says a boot file is missing or corrupt. I can get the computer to start by running the startup repair from the Vista disk but it doesn't keep the updates. Is there a better way to fix this? :??:

Yeah but I need SP 1 for some software. It does the same thing with the packs.

Sounds like there is either a virus or the updates are causing a software confilict.
