I searched across the forum and internet to a solution for this problem, with no success.
What happens is when playing in either foobar 0.9.6.4 (and it happened in 0.9.6.1 to 0.9.6.3 too) or WINAMP or WMP the system suddenly stops responding. A major LAG takes place through out all the windows for +- 7 seconds, which makes the computer UNUSABLE. A minute later the lag happens again. But, for some strange reason, sometimes the lag waits until more than 10 minutes to happen again. When the lag is going on, the player (fb, winamp or wmp) is the only window fully operable and, if I close it, the lag instantly disappears.
In XP SP3 there was the problem. Then I made a new clean install of windows SP3 and the problem went on. Almost getting crazy, I made a new clean install of Windows SP2, this time, but the problem still goes on!
Even with a clean installation (no matter either full install or portable) of foobar2000, without using ANY components, the LAG is present.
My notebook is an ACER 3100 (Semprom 3400, 2,5 GB RAM and Realtek Audio). I've already used EVERY driver that I found for the sound card.
