Does anyone have an opinion on this television? I put a deposit towards a
Panasconic 34wx54 hdtv and would like to know if anyone has had good and bad
experiences with this set?

I looked up this Panasonic set on bizrate.com and one fellow had an
opinion on this set. You may want to read it. I have 3 panasonics,
newer but are the standard screen sets. When I wanted a hdtv set I
went with Sony due to them being leaning toward HDTV and quality sound
equipment for many years.

I bought the KD-34XBR960 set. Its also a 34" wide screen but what I
like it has no scanning lines on any channel or any input. It don't
matter if its over the air channels, or channels from the dish
network. Even the VCR looks really good on this set. High Def. and
DVD's look fantastic.

I'm sure the Panasonic would look great with HDTV and DVD's.
I'm thinking of the other programs you will use it for. This TV set
and the Dish Networks 811 receiver both have an enhancing chip to make
all the programming other than maybe Hi Def. look a lot better.

I have had two other older Sony XBR sets and they lasted for a very
long time with no problems. The last set went 14 years and still had
great color when one day it would not come on. I'm hoping this new HD
set will last even ten years.. I bought if from Sony style for $2100
with free delivery. Type into Google, KD-34XBR960 review to see what
others think. Cnet.com had a detailed review on this set.

I found some details on the Sony set you mentioned. Sorry about the
long http address. If it don't work try sonysyle.com/ then put the
model # into the search window. This sounds like a pretty good set. I
thought all the new models started with the KD designation, well,
maybe not.
