This is the first time I've built a computer and having some trouble figuring out what cables go where. The motherboard Manual doesn't say alot about what goes where. I dont want to plug things into the wrong socket and hope it will work.

This is a list of cables that I don't know where to plug in or if I need them. (3x) 2-port sata power cable that came with the motherboard, (2x) 5-pin S-ata connector, 6-pin pci express connector, (2x) 4-pin Molex power connectors that all came with the psu. I also don't know where to plug in the case fans since they have the same connection as the 4-pin molex power connectors. I heard that they where suppose to be hook up to the motherboard instead of psu but I cant do that since I don't have that connection.

Evge 680i mobo
Thermaltake PSU
Stacker 830 Case

Any help is much Appreciated

What hard drives and DVD/CDROM drives are you installing, and are they IDE or SATA?

The 6 pin pci-e connector powers the video card. What video card are you installing?

Just put those case fan molex into psu molex.

The SATA cables are for SATA drives. One for data and another for power. They will only fit one way so you can just use trial and error to orient them correctly. Same thing where they hook to the motherboard.

Note: There are two sets of power cables you must hook up to the motherboard. The 24 pin main power connector and the 4 pin CPU connector.

I have the Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive, Sony Nec Optiarc DVD, and Evga 8880gts video card. I got the HD and DVD hook up.

The only problem left are the fans. How should I hook them up? Do I just need to plug the 4-pin periperal connector in the back of the fan connector and thats it. What about the front of the fan connector? It looks like it plugs into something and whats that tiny connector at the end of the 4-pin peripheral connector cable?

I believe the extra connector on the fan plug you are referring to is there in case you want to plug it into something else that requires a power cable - so you won't have to use up a power cable on a fan only. So just plug in the fans to any cable coming from the PSU and it will work.

The tiny connector is probably for the floppy drive. If I am picturing correctly. The cables are labled here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowImage.aspx?Image=17-153-040-10.jpg%2c17-153-040-02.jpg%2c17-153-040-03.jpg%2c17-153-040-04.jpg%2c17-153-040-05.jpg%2c17-153-040-06.jpg%2c17-153-040-07.jpg%2c17-153-040-08.jpg%2c17-153-040-09.jpg&CurImage=17-153-040-08.jpg&Depa=0&Description=Thermaltake+Toughpower+W0128RU+ATX12V+%2f+EPS12V+650W+Power+Supply+100+-+240+V+-+Retail
