I am about to have open house and i am going to use that money to build a new computer for college. Right now I am thinking about buying two 8800 gts 320mb oc cards and putting them in sli. I am have two questions. First will the two 8800 gts cards be good enough to run games like crysis, bioshock, and quake wars at 1680 x 1050 with 4xaa and 8xaf solid. I know theres no telling right now but a good opinion would help. And does anyone here have sli using vista and how is the performance? do you have a lot of gaming troubles like crashing and lockups? thanks

Ok, as of now there are NO SLI drivers for Vista, they should be coming out soon... but if you get two GPUS... you'll be stuck using one at a time, sorry dude but that's the way the cookie crumbles.

EDIT: This might work, but don't take my word for it. All these are are the latest drivers for those GPUs.

yea thats what i thought but i heard that there were beta drivers out that did support sli and they were a lot better than the drivers currently available and they fixed a lot of the bugs with the 8800s

So your going to waste 600+$ for SLI'ed 8800GTS when you can get the 8800GTX for 500$ which would pound both those cards SLI'ed or HD 2900XT for 400$.

IMHO SLI anit worth it unless your doing TOP end cards, eitherwise just get the TOP end and screw SLI mid range

actually if you look at toms vga charts dual gts in sli beat out a 8800gtx in almost everything if not everything.

Yea i am going back and forth i still cant decide because i dont want any choppy frame rates at my resolution but i want to play with at least 4xaa and 8x af with ultra settings
