Programs missing from start menu

I have very few programs under all programs, but over twice as many in my add/delete programs. how can i get these other programs into my start menu?

A lot of stuff under "Add/Remove Programs" isn't designed to be run as an interactive program. Programs like "Microsoft .NET Framework" or "Codec Packs" are pieces of the infrastructure that other programs use, and aren't able to be run as interactive applications in their own right.

Otherwise, you can try clicking "Start" and typing the name of the program into the Search box - then if anything shows up you can right-click it and select "Pin to Start Menu" (I'm assuming you're using Windows 7 since this is the Windows 7 forum).
