I recently installed Vista on my desktop onto a seperate hard drive from my XP drive. When I decided finally that Vista was a useless piece of crap I reverted back to my XP installation and took out the old Vista hard drive.

Well when I rebooted the computer keeps asking me which OS to boot from picking Vista as the default, and obviously Vista isn't on my XP drive ANYWHERE. But the MBR I think still is. I'm trying to do a fix boot but need detailed instructions how to get XP to be the default boot somehow. If someone could shed some light on this I'd really appreciate it.

XP SP3 Pro
K9A2-790X mobo
Phenom 9850
4GB Dual channel
Crossfired 4850s 512
500Gb (Xp boot drive)
1.5Tb (whatever drive)

You can not manage an XP FIXBOOT and you are calling Vista a UPOC? Google is your friend. :bounce:

I managed it - I'll answer my own question so this can be closed. Use easyBCD tool to fix your boot issues. It works really well as long as you have an OS to run it in. My problem is solved.
