Hello all,

I want to be able to dual boot XP on my Vista laptop and I want to know if there would be any difference if I bought an OEM version of XP as opposed to the more expensive retail version. Would the OEM version cause problems? What are the downsides to OEMs? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I used the method n3f0ur has provided you from syschat. It worked flawlessly.

You will find however that after the XP install, it will have over written your bootloader and boot straight into XP.

Please take note that you will need a Vista operating system DVD to repair the bootloader if you use this method.

If you were provided with a Vista Operating System DVD go for it.

Remember to always back up important data (or better still create an image of your HDD) before you undertake a job of this nature. It is better to be safe than sorry.
