I don't believe there is an option to make the command prompt window take up the full screen... why would you want to, anyway?

The following works in XP (I only have Vista at home and I'm at work):

Open the command prompt, right click on the top bar and select properties. Go to the layout tab and change the "screen buffer size width". Mine was at 80 and I put it 200 and it would go full screen.
