Command prompt to cdrom drive

How do I run cdrom drive with a command line or prompt on winXP home edition? My pc is freezing totally before I can run cdrom by normal method. Trying to run antivirus and reg cleaner programs.

boot into safe mode.

 

[pat mcgroin]

if the disk is bootable go into the bios and make sure sure the cd is set to boot first.
Then it will boot that disk instead of windows.
