On my computer as soon as I turn it on it comes up with disk cheking, after this it say it will convert drive C: from Fat32 to NTFS. It determines the ammount of memory it is going to take and then just freezes. I have restored loads of times and this just keeps happening.

Is there anything in the floppy drive. Somehow you have to perform a low level format and the easiest way to do it is to install the HDD into another PC and format it to NTFS using the disk management tool located in administrative tools.

or

insert the windows installation disk and re-install

but

backup everything you want before doing either
