LaserJet 3050 scanner on Vista

I have been informed by HP that the scanning function on my HP3050 will not operate on my system (running Windows VISTA on 64-bit machine). Can this possibly be TRUE?

Well, Vista is known for it's scanning and printing issues, especially with Canon and HP. My friend actually sold his LaserJet 'cause it was useless on Vista Sorry...

That applies to applications. Drivers must be 64 bit.
