Safari 4 for Windows Facebook Chat error

Whenever I log on Facebook on Safari 4, I have to leave chat signed off. Whenever I receive a message, I get an immediate error message saying something about plugins and a "MIME" file. I've googled it many times, and can't find the remedy... and it's very annoying, because I love Safari. Does anyone know any fixesor what plugin this message could be referring to?

update: safari users - to stop popup, go to fb chat options an unclick the 'play popup sound'.

That's about the only thing I found after a Google search. Whether it actually works or not, I am unsure. You may want to try again, as someone later on said it's working again.

I'll give it a try... I stopped using Safari about a month ago, so maybe it's fixed. thanks.

It is NOT working again, it just stop sometimes for like a minute or something and then it continues fricking ur life off

I disabled chat sound

for safari user:
-Download quick time 7.66
-run it
-edit>preference>quick time preference
-click browser tab>MIME Settings>checklist MP3 - MPEG layer III movies and Streams
-OK
-restart safari browser

if you go to preferences on safari, then go to preferences, then go to security. There uncheck enable plug-ins. This will stop that annoying message from appearing over and over again. But it will not let you watch videos that need flash. So, it's not so convenient on the long run.
