I had an installation of windows xp on a harddrive which i broke up into 2 partitions, XP was on the c partition and the d partition was for other files. I tried to reinstall XP and after deleting and formatting the former c partition it was trying to make my data partition C ( the old d) and it is giving the partition i want to install XP on the letter e: . Is there a way to change around the partition letters before installing xp? Thanks ahead of time.
quick update, i dont know if im doing something really bad but apparently i found the boot.ini file on the data partition (the one that isnt supposed to be the windows partition). Could this be the reason the installer thinks the data partition is c: ?
