boot into safe mode.

In internet explorer go to tools|internet options|browsing history|delete all.

Close that box and then browsing history|settings|view files|edit|select all|delete
then try to run onecare again.

Many things cant run on safe mode and can be deleted after this.

The first deletes your history. The second deletes your cookies.

Pat, as always has offered sound advice. You need to flush your explorer cache.

virtool(s) are often the result of AV (antivirus) engines using heuristic scanning techniques to detect software that circumvents security in programs.

Although many are not harmful their very nature is to work around copyright / security restrictions and carry an element of risk.

The odds are that you are running a "cracked" application, or your browser has an add-on that is being detected by your AV software.

If you are getting random application names that are being detected by your AV program, this raises a red flag. This is by design by the malware, so that you are unable to research and solve any malware issues.

OK. I'm gonna get off my soapbox and offer an alternative freeware scanner that can run happily along-side your AV program. It is very good and will likely be able to detect and remove any threats.

Download and save to your desktop. Let it update and run a scan on your system.

It will produce a log at the end of the scan. If you are unsure how to analyse it post it back here and we will have a look.
