Please read my whole wall of text below because your suggestion is probably covered in it. I am at wits end here. It's not a biggie though because I'm pulling this hard drive out next week to put in two new ones in RAID 0 setup with Windows 7 64 bit on them.

I have a Dell M1730 XPS Laptop intel core 2 duo 2.5ghz, 4gb ram, vista premium 32 bit (I know 32 bit only uses 3gb, thats one reason I'm upgrading next week), dual nvidia 8800m gtx's in SLI both with 512mb ram.

Now that you know my system here is my problem.

My laptop is plugged in, it always is, I open my laptop lid and push the power button. The Dell BIOS screen comes up and loads find, the Vista loading bar scrolls for a few seconds then the screen shuts off, not just goes black with the backlight still on, it goes off completely. Then after about 1.5-3 minutes the logon screen pops up where I input my password. I logon and all boots normally and quickly like always. Why does my screen go black when I turn on the laptop and take forever for the logon screen to show up?

I have the best drivers I like for my Grahpics card that overclock well for Crysis, I have CCleaner and run the registry cleaner often, I have AVG 8.5, spybot, malwarebytes' etc. No virus or anything. I defragged and check disked twice in the past three days. I recently installed ZoneAlarm Pro then uninstalled it if that has anything to do with my problem. As of right now with Opera open, I have 84 processes running in Vista. AVG has like five, my Logitech laptop display has about five, my razor mouse has about two, utorrent, spybot tea timer, malwarebytes', windows washer, Dell quickset (control my laptop LED's). Thats about 20 of my own processes running. 14 total tray icons open. They always run and have ran for the past year.

I have both CPU's being utilized during boot up. Found some option on another forum to enable them, even though the computer already uses both I just made sure and selected that option, still no fast boot. I have one hard drive with 40/143gb free, the same it has been for the past four months.

I have been experiencing this problem for the past few days, the only programs I have installed were Google Earth Pro, and Zone Alarm. Neither had trojans or any spyware. I uninstalled Zone Alarm.
