Hello , been a lurker here for some time, and have decided to take the plunge and upgrade from my "old" socket A system.
For a CPU I am looking at either a E4300 or E6400 Is the difference in bus speed worth that $70... I'm leaning to the E4300, but I'd like some advice.
I want a rock solid mobo to go along with this CPU. I don't plan on ever running 2 video cards, but will surely overclock the CPU in the future. I see the Gigabyte Ds3 recommended on here by several people, the MSI 965 Platinum got some praise by tomshardware... any suggestions?. I'm really not too picky, I just want to make sure everything is going to work together properly.
Everything else is an easy choice for me... ram will be picked from the mobos vendor list, video card will probably be a 7900 or 8800GTS, PSU probably from antec in the ~650w range.
Do I need to worry about the brand HDD I choose? Maxtor has worked fine in the past for me...
